  • 0:01 Hey, how’s it going? It’s Eric Wittenberg from Camper Machine Operations, A K A C M O. And I’m here with a couple minutes for a CMO in the know. 0:11 If you are selling camp, I’m gonna consider that you are a camp marketing officer or call you a C M O and here’s a couple of pressing things from the day that you might have heard about. 0:24 Let me dive right in, lemme show you. So the first of all, there’s the, the new thing is ChatGPT.
  • 0:30 And the old thing that it’s disrupting quite a bit is s e o, which is thing people often ask me about. 0:36 So I’m gonna show you all these, all these things in like two minutes or less. So the thing that you don’t have to worry about, it’s not yet is the chat g p t is gonna change your world.
  • 0:49 It’s not yet, but it’s, you should learn how to use it. And so the two things that you need to know is how other big players are using it. 0:56 A i e bank rates. I’m gonna show an example from them. And the, the big dog that kind of governs all things SEO is Google.
  • 1:04 So you’re gonna learn what they say about it, and then I’ll show you what you should do next. You know, what do you do? 1:11 What do you do now? So that’s the plan and here’s the quick update. So the big thing is that bank rate is a banking kind of content provider.
  • 1:22 They basically connect and sell other banking and financial related instruments. So getting free traffic,  SEO is very important to them. 1:32 So they’re really good at it and they’ve ranked really fast for a lot of things, and they made a lot of waves because they, instead of giving a byline where their authors would, would normally be, it’s written by bank rate and they tell people that it’s, he was generated for the first time using an AI technology like Chat, G P T, and then they give Angelica props for being the editor. 1:57 And then it was reviewed by Kate. So they’re saying this is maybe 50 to 75% first in an AI builder, but then we had significant human capital deploy this.
  • 2:09 And this is a little bit scary for the people that are trying to produce content. Or if you’ve been struggling to do a monthly blog for the last four years, this is why you might not be ranking for the things that you want. 2:21 Google says this is how we’re gonna treat AI builders, is that you’re gonna go through the same filter as our double e a t. 2:36 This is their, their kind of filter for who, who gets SEO criteria. If you have experience, expertise authority and trustworthiness, you will rank.
  • 2:50 If you don’t have those things and you pay a thousand people to write fake and bad and weird reviews and comments for you, or if you use an AI to use to get those thousand fake reviews, they’re gonna penalize you. 3:03 This is a big thing that Google’s liaison for a search engine is all over Twitter saying, it doesn’t matter if you use it like this. 3:10 We wanna see that you’re a human and your content is written for a human and it was curated by a human. 3:16 And you have the E E A T, it’s a huge problem. And it’s, you’re never gonna beat bank rate for those things.
  • 3:24 The the thing. So the thing that you can do now is what my friend Audrey Monkey’s been doing with Sunshine Parenting and for her Camp Gold. 3:33 Arrow Camp is past all these ads on a search for why summer camp is great for kids to get off screens past all those ads. 3:43 You’ll find Google has curated some of Audrey’s content from, from gold Arrow Camp’s site, and they’re spinning that up as the answer.
  • 3:54 Then she’s given that free link. And then she’s also got this from her consulting and book publisher deal. So how you can use this chat and AI content to kind of perform and play the SEO game is gonna be very different now. 4:12 So it’s not gonna be the way it was where you can keyword stuff and it has been like that for a long time, but it’s not gonna totally destroy the world.
  • 4:21 And I wanted to finish with this, is that it’s still the below the fold game. So any chat, any, any search that includes summer camp for and and January in kind of lead season, January to open season for most short session camps, you’re still gonna experience a ton of ads that are generic for your, your search and camp related.
  • 4:49 Some are gonna be specifically competitors, some are gonna be related and some are gonna be extensions. But that’s my five minute c m o in the note. 5:02 See you later.
